Todd Show them why he is Number 1

Round 2 of the N.S.W Quarter Midget Championship Series at Cullen Bullen Speedway Saw 6 cars in attendance However due to a licensing problem Brett hall was forced to be a spectator reducing the field to 5 cars for the nights racing. it was also a night to forget for Jamie Dicker debuting the brand New Vassall Racing Team Quarter Midget with new car gremlin hampering his efforts all night.

 

Heat 1

The Grid draw saw #3 Brett Finucane start Pole, #1 Darren Todd on his outside in P2, row 2 was #0 Jamie Dicker from 3 and  #2 Rob Stephenson on his outside in 4th and New Comer #12 Terry Bond round out the Field in 5th. Brett Finucane got the jump and was pursued closely race long by Darren Todd but managed to secure first blood of the round winning Heat 1 from Darren Todd,Rob Stephenson, Jamie Dicker and Terry Bond.

 

Heat 2

The grid was reverse of Heat 1 with the exception of Bond who started at the back due to the 3 race Rof start for new drivers safety rule. first saw some brilliant racing with the top 3 car running 3 wide for the first lap but eventually it was Todd who stormed to a commanding victory over Finucane and Stephenson, Terry bond finished 4th and Jamie Dicker in 5th in the ailing #0.

 

Heat 3

The grid from heat 3 is determined on points for the event with the highest starting from rear. Jamie Dicker got the start but his and Brett Finucane's night would come to an end in the first corner after optimistic move saw didn't pay off for the #3 and saw major contact between the #0 & #3 car with Funucane getting some serious air time and almost getting upside down. Darren Todd went on to win the heat from Rob Stephenson & Terry Bond.

 

Feature Race

In what was basically a 2 car race Darren Todd Started on Pole with Rob Stephenson on his outside with Brett Finucane Stepping behind the wheel of Terry Bonds #14 to help sort out some problems with the car but asking not to be included in the race result. And what a race it was with Rob Stepehenson leading into turn one, for several laps he held off Todd and looked close to securing his first Feature race win but with just a few laps to go Todd found a way past Stephenson  and went on to secure another feature race win.
