STEPHENSON UNSTOPABLE

8 Cars signed into the pits to contest the RPM Engineering Services N.S.W Quarter Midget Championship Series on sunday and it was Rob Stephenson that came out the Champ in the Closest Championship in Recent history.

Heat 1 saw the Championship rivals bookend the field with Rob Stephenson drawing the pole position and Defending Champ and series lead Darren Todd draw the 8th and last position, But it was Brett Hall that stormed into the lead from 2nd on the grid and and took the win 2nd was Stephenson and third was N.S.W Litre car Champion Chris Davis. The race was declaired on lap 7 of 8 after a steller battle for third between Davis, Todd and Dicker ended with Jamie Dicker losing a right rear wheel due to Hub Failure.

Heat 2 and with the Reverse grid it was now Todd that started from P1 and Stephenson from P8. Todd jumped to an early lead with Dicker chasing him down. on lap 4 Todd made an uncharacteristic mistake in turn 4 going into a half spin and with dicker commited in very close company the two made very heavy contact. With the yellows out while Dickers car was removed the field compressed. Stephenson made the most of the restart blasting through the field but it was Brett 'Cruz' Hall that made it 2 from 2 ahead of Todd and fast finishing Stephenson.

With alot of damage to the #1 and #0 cars of Darren Todd and Jamie Dicker following the heat 2 accident Todd was forced to park the #1 as the damage was too great to fix and continue ending his chance of a record 3rd Championship Series. Jamie Dicker and his crew thrashed away at the VRT #0 and were able to get the car out for heat 3 all be it with a badly bent rear axel to start in P1, with the dissapointment of the day so far fueling him on Dicker stromed to a flag to flag win with brett Muller chasing him for the whole duration to finish in 2nd spot ahead of Rob Stephenson.

Feature race time and with the championship now in the bag stephenson made the most of his pole position to win a shortend 6 lap feature (due to time Constraints) ahead of  Muller and Davis.

With the season now complete and a new champion crowned we would like to thank Cullen Bullen Speedway and our Series Sponsors RPM Engineering Services & A/OK Trophies look forward to an even bigger and better 2015/16 season.
