Rookie takes The Main at Gosford

The 28th of December saw the Quater Midgets head to Gosford Speedway for the Christmas Cup Presented by Pitstop Raceway.

 

Heat 1 Saw Brett Cruz Hall jump away from the green flag too a big lead

With everyone finding their feet on a new track Litre car driver Chris Davis finding out about these little cars with no Suspension

Bouncing around a bit, With 1 lap To go half a lap leader Cruz clipped the windrow that sent him hard into the wall.

Cruz was ok but the car was a little worst for wear.

Heat 2 Saw Tee Lynch bounce too the lead even with a baldly pushing car lead until lap 4 with a small mistake seen the hard to beat Darren Todd take the lead. Tee held 2nd place till lap 7 when a throttle cable broke. With a smart and smooth drive seen Rachel Holt claim 2nd place.

Heat 3 with the crew and friends working over time seen the Brett Hall back in action With Terry Bond throwing a chain on the start line dropped the feild down to 5 cars A Good Battle between Todd and Cruz the whole race With 2 laps To go Lynch clipped the wall spinning her with Holt nowhere too go slamming into her.

With the track dry slick and dusty the A main rolled out

Bond jumped out too the lead until a mistake on lap 3 sore hall take the lead For only a lap with a very nice handling car Bond rounded hall up and was never headed. With the top 4 a little bit strung out the battle of the race was for 5th and 6th between Holt and Lynch swapping places a number of times. Fantasic driving from the girls But the drive of the race belongs too Terry bond a rookie this year to the Quarter Midgets taking his first A Main win.
